Brian Kinman is a seasoned executive, investor, and ecosystem leader whose career bridges four decades of financial discipline, risk management, and venture innovation. As Chairman and CEO of the St. Louis Arch Angels, Brian leads one of the Midwest’s most active angel investment networks, fueling high-growth startups across healthcare, med-tech, ag-tech, and technology-enabled services. Under his leadership, the Arch Angels have invested more than $120 million in over 150 early-stage companies, serving as a critical catalyst for regional innovation and job creation.
Before entering the venture investment arena, Brian spent nearly 40 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he rose to Partner and established pioneering practices in enterprise risk management, internal controls, and governance advisory. This background gives him a rare blend of financial rigor and strategic insight—qualities that now define his approach to early-stage investing and portfolio leadership. Known for his collaborative, founder-first mindset, Brian excels at connecting entrepreneurs with capital, coaching leadership teams, and guiding emerging companies through scalable growth and regulatory pathways.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Economics from Saint Louis University and is a Retired Certified Public Accountant. He serves on several advisory and investment boards, including roles within BioSTL’s innovation coalition, which is shaping the St. Louis region’s bioscience and digital-health investment ecosystem. Beyond his professional achievements, Brian is recognized as a passionate advocate for entrepreneurial development in the Midwest, encouraging greater participation from accredited investors and championing inclusive, locally driven venture capital models.
